Bhopal, Nov 16: In a jolt to BJP in poll-bound Madhya Pradesh, another sitting party MLA, Parbatlal Ahirwar representing Khargapur today joined Congress after denial of ticket for the December 1 assembly elections.
Ahirwar, who announced his decision at a press conference at state Congress headquarters here, is the second BJP MLA in the state to quit the party and joined congress following failure to get tickets after Dindori MLA Joharsingh Marawi.
An angry Ahirwar alleged that though his name had been announced by BJP as its nominee from Khargapur, he was "betrayed" at the eleventh hour and Harishanker Khatik was asked to file his papers on the last day of nomination on Novemler 14 at the behest of firebrand leader Uma Bharati.
