Jaipur, June 09: The Rajasthan state BJP today said Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot`s populist announcements at `chintan shivir` were made with an eye on the assembly elections to be held later this year. Party spokesman K C Sharaf said in a statement, "How could you believe the Congress government`s announcement as it could not implement its manifesto in last four and half years." In remaining five-six months, the chief minister would try to misguide voters by promises like jobs to unemployed youth, eight hours of uninterrupted power supply and crop-insurance schemes, he added. It would be better for the Congress to stop making such announcements, he said, adding the Congress government`s reverse counting has begun as BJP president Vasundra Raje, who is on `parivartan yatra`, would replace it by December next.
