Ten companies of security forces, including the CRPF and PAC, in addition to the forces already deployed in Ayodhya, are being rushed to the sensitive town where a large number of political and religious leaders are likely to converge tomorrow, Additional Director General of Police (law and order) Vikram Singh said here.
Senior police officials, including Superintendents of Police, from neighbouring districts are being sent to Ayodhya, he said. Inspector General of Police A K Jain has reached Ayodhya to oversee the security arrangements. Instructions have been issued to keep a close watch on the movements of the anti-social elements, Singh said.
Security in and around the 'digambar akhara' where the body of the Paramhans has been kept for the people to pay their last respects has also been stepped up, he said. Directives have also been issued to ensure smooth movement of people who have been flocking the akhara since morning, he added. Bureau Report
