Kochi,Aug 02: CPI (M)-led opposition Left Democratic Front (LDF) was making
all efforts to bring down the A K Antony government
through "unethical" means by raking up issues which were
the internal matters of Congress, Kerala information and
parliamentary Aaffairs minister, M M Hassan, today alleged.
"Uncivilised" propaganda was being carried out by the
CPI (M) leaders -- V S Achutanandan and Pinarayi Vijayan in the assembly and outside, Hassan told a press meet here.
CPI (M), which is "intolerant" towards defectors from its own party, was openly trying to "engineer" defections from the congress, he said.
He said the fax issue, which was an internal matter of Congress, was being kept alive by the opposition even after AICC General Secretary Ahmed Patel's admission that he did send the fax, expelling five MLAs from congress legislature party, but had withdrawn it later.
Opposition leader in the assembly, V S Achutanandan and CPI (M) state secretary, Pinarayi Vijayan, have demanded a probe by a legislature committee on the issue.
Government had made it clear that it wanted to resolve the issue with regard to self-financing colleges in the state as early as possible. However, since the matter was before the Supreme Court, government does not want to bring in a bill now with regard to the admissions and fees in such colleges. The Unified Unversity Bill had been sent to the subject committee.
Though the earlier rehabilitation attempt at Marad had failed, government will not backtrack and was taking all steps in this regard, Hassan said.
