Islamabad, Nov 02: The Saudi envoy to Pakistan has denied reports that the ISI attempted to bug the suite in which Saudi crown prince Abdullah Bin Aziz stayed during his
recent visit to Islamabad.
Terming the reports irresponsible, the Saudi ambassador Ali Awadh Aseri said they had no basis whatsoever.
"Such irresponsible reporting has its own motives and objectives," Aseri was quoted as saying by local daily the news today. The report referred to was carried by an internet weekly South Asia tribute that said Saudi intelligence officials, who combed the suite in which the crown prince stayed, discovered electronic bugs allegedly planted by the ISI.
The South Asia tribute is edited by former editor of The News, Saheen Sahbai. "Let me assure you that nothing in the whole world can affect traditional historical ties between Pakistan and Kingdom of Saudi Arabia," Aseri said.
