Congress demands all party meet on Jharkhand domicile policy
Ranchi, June 13: The Jharkhand Pradesh Congress Committee today demanded the Arjun Munda government to call an all-party meeting on domicile policy and bring an end to the controversy.
Ranchi, June 13: The Jharkhand Pradesh Congress Committee today demanded the Arjun Munda government to call an all-party meeting on domicile policy and bring an end to the controversy.
''The government should invite all political parties at the earliest to find a solution to the policy at the earliest,'' JPCC's newly appointed president Thomas Hansda told reporters here.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Arjun Munda has directed the authorities to announce the results of the May 27 teachers' recruitment test before the June 30 deadline.
Alleging that the NDA government in the state had failed on all fronts, Hansda accused the administration of using funds meant for development for party work.
He said AICC president Sonia Gandhi had appointed him as the head of the state party to strength the Congress movement in Jharkhand and take the party to a position from where it could dislodge the BJP-led government.
''The Congress will soon form an alliance with like-minded parties to achieve this milestone,'' he added.
Hansda, who recently took over the charge from acting president Pradeep Kumar Balmachu, said the government should immediately announce panchayat elections too.
