Within a fortnight of her installation as Bangladesh Prime Minister Khaleda Zia announced expansion of the army to make it capable of war. The government would go for expansion and development of Bangladesh army compatible with the demands of 21st century by building it as a modern and efficient force and also capable of war, she told army officers and jawans.
