Merchant lifts Asian Snooker title
Yasin Merchant of India, last night regained the Asian title after 12 years, when he beat 19-year old Chinese Jin Long, 8-4 in the best of 15-frame finals of the Red and White Asian Snooker Championship, held at Karachi.

According to information recieved in Mumbai, Yasin Merchant based in Mumbai, won the final frame 'on-the-black'. Merchant had earlier won the title in Delhi in 1989, when he beat Thailand's Udon Khaimuk. He was runners-up in 1991.
