Ahmedabad, June 21: A labourer was injured in a major fire that broke out at a chemical unit in Panol village in Bharuch district of south Gujarat today, official sources said.

Fire brigade personnel battled the flames for nearly two hours before it was controlled, the sources said.
The fire was believed to have been caused by a spark during a chemical process of manufacturing toluene in Anjal chemical industry located in the Golden Corridor, which led to a blast, the sources said adding that a large number of chemical units were located in the area.
Senior district administration and police officials have reached the village, the sources added.
