Jalore, Apr 29: A review petition has been filed in a Lower Court against Rajasthan Deputy Chief Minister Kamla Beniwal and others for allegedly violating the Arms Act by accepting swords at a public function. The petition was filed by BJP leader Milap Chand Mehta in the court of additional district and sessions judge,Jayant Kumar Upadhyaya in Bhinmal in Jalore district after his complaint was rejected by the judicial magistrate in Raniwara yesterday. Mehta pleaded that the judicial magistrate had wrongly rejected his complaint that sought filing of FIR by the police under the relevant section of the Arms Act against Beniwal, District Collector of Jalore, P.C Balai and local Congress MLA,Heera Lal Vishnoi, all of whom were allegedly presented with swords by the organisers of an animal fair in Sanchore last week. The petitioner alleged that while VHP and Bajrang Dal activists were being arrested under arms act for distribution of trishul (tridents), no action was being taken for distribution of swords.
