India and Tajikistan held talks on strategic and military issues in the wake of the interim government in Afghanistan in place.
The five-member Tajik delegation led by its Defence Minister Col-General Sherali Khairulloev had discussions with Defence Minister George Fernandes on the emerging scenario in Afghanistan and the role of India and the Central Asian Nations, defence sources said. The delegation which arrived on Tuesday will hold another round of talks on December 21 after a day's visit to Agra on Thursday. The Tajik minister is also scheduled to meet External Affairs Minister Jaswant Singh, national security adviser Brajesh Mishra and the three service chiefs. Bureau Report
