Melbourbe, May 27: Australian leg spinner Shane Warne said that he hopes his 12-month suspension from cricket will extend his career, and that he might return with some new deliveries. "I've done it for 15 years, so I still think I have a few good years left in me," Warne said on a television talk show last night.

"I'll use this 12 months wisely, keep myself fit as I am now, come up with a few new deliveries, my hunger and my passion stays there hopefully I can play for a few years yet. Only time will tell."

Warne is Australia's leading wicket-taker in test and limited-overs cricket and the most prolific leg-spinner of all time.
He tested positive for banned substances hydrochlorothiazide and amiloride in an out-of-competition test in Sydney, taken on the eve of his announcement that he would quit limited-overs cricket. His suspension ends next February, when he said he might reconsider his decision to quit the one-day game.
Warne claims that he is not a drug cheat, and that he didn't know the banned substances were contained in "diet pills" he was taking. Diuretics can aid short-term weight loss, but are banned because they can be used as masking agents for anabolic steroids.
