Dehradun, May 10: All mobile phone services were today jammed in most parts of Uttaranchal causing inconvenience to the cellphone users. In Dehradun, all the mobile services including BSNL, Airtel, Escotel and Reliance were not working.
When contacted, Deputy Inspector General of Police Anil Raturi said it was a normal practice during elections to jam mobile services to avoid untoward incidents.
In the last assembly elections in February 2002, the mobile services worked normal.
