New Delhi, June 13: Continuing the tariff war in mobile telephony, Tata Teleservices today announced the lowest entry cost of just Rs 999 for its WLL mobile phones while offering lower call charges. According to the new plan, consumers can procure a handset at an upfront payment of Rs 999 (Economy Plan) with monthly rental of Rs 450 and Rs 199 to be paid as handset rental for a period of 24 months.
While in the second plan (Privilege Plan), monthly rental has been fixed at Rs 999 and handset rental has been fixed at Rs 99 for a period of 24 months. In both the cases, activation charges have been waived, a company statement said, adding that in the economy plan consumers would get free talk time worth 400 minutes while in the privilege plan free talk time will be worth 1200 minutes.
The consumers can use the free talk time for making either local, STD or ISD calls. TTSL has claimed that under the new plans, consumers will save upto 40 per cent on their cost when compared to the tariff plans of other service providers. Bureau Report
