Islamabad, July 17: Criticising the arrest of JKLF chairman and Hurriyar leader Yasin Malik, Pakistan said it "betrays" India's "claim" of seeking a peaceful settlement of Kashmir issue. "The arrest betrays Indian claims that it was seeking a peaceful settlement of the Kashmir dispute," a foreign office statement said yesterday.

"It also betrays the Indian governments' claim of seeking a peaceful settlement of the Jammu and Kashmir dispute," the statement said urging India to put an end to its alleged harassment of APHC leadership to facilitate a peaceful settlement of the Kashmir issue. It also asked India to "enter into a meaningful dialogue with Pakistan for a fair settlement of the Kashmir dispute."
