Imphal, Sep 02: Manipur University Students Union (MUSU) today demanded immediate suspension of three officials of the institution, including the vice-chancellor (VC), for calling fresh interview for recruiting a lecturer without announcing the result of the earlier one held for the same post. A MUSU statement said a series of agitations would be launched if the authorities failed to suspend VC N Bijoy Singh, University Registrar R K Ranjan and chairman of selection committee Amuba Singh from their posts by tomorrow.

The statement said an earlier interview had been held for recruiting a guest bio-chemistry lecturer and without announcing the result, a fresh interview for the same post was held recently. University sources said the VC could cancel any interview held earlier without announcing its result.
