Ranchi, Mar 31: The Janata Dal (United), a constituent of the BJP-led NDA government in Jharkhand, today urged chief minister Arjun Munda to initiate the process for an act binding all legislators to declare their property and reveal cases, if any, registered against them. “The government should take steps through an act which would compel all elected representatives to declare their income, assets and disclose cases, if any, filed against them,” JD(U)'s state unit president Goutam Sagar Rana told reporters here. He said, “The party's demand on MLAs' coming out open on assets cases is in keeping with the popular saying—charity begins at home.”
Besides this demand, the JD(U) would hold a day-long dharna here on April 22 in support of two more demands --submission of adivasi status report to the Centre by the Governor and revision of schedule areas, Rana, who is also the convenor of the state NDA coordination committee, added.
Meanwhile, another coalition partner, the Samata Party, said the Arjun Munda coalition would complete its full term. “Under the new Chief Minister, the hopes and aspirations of the people of Jharkhand would be fulfilled successfully,” the spokesman of the Samata Party, Pramod Mishra said.
