Kochi, Nov 19: In a show of strength to the Congress
high command that they can longer be taken lightly, the 'I'
faction of the party in Kerala today organised a massive rally
and convention in the city in which senior leader K
Karunakaran vowed to bring down Chief Minister A K Antony by
November 25.
Addressing a large gathering of supporters who had
thronged the city from the state's Northern-most district of
Kasaragod to Thiruvananthapuram in the South, Karunakaran said
there could be no compromise on the demand of leadership
change.
"This situation of uncertainty will not go on for long. Attempts to trample us will not be permitted," he said as the crowd roared in support.
The problem plaguing the party's state unit could be solved "in a minute" by Congress president Sonia Gandhi and Antony, he said. Karunakaran said that though he was aged, he still had the energy and the will power to bring down Antony.
"Wherever we go, the tri-colour flag of the party will be ours," he said. Bureau Report
