Chamba to mark the `millennium year`
Shimla, Nov 26: The 1000-year-old temple town of Chamba in Himachal Pradesh would be declared a `heritage town` as the city would celebrate the `millennium year` in 2004.

as the city would celebrate the 'millennium year' in 2004.
The state industries minister Ram Lal Thakur made an
announcement to this effect today and said a series of
programmes projecting the rich cultural heritage, unique
architecture, art, folklore and scriptures of the town would
be organised to mark the occasion.
The programme would also highlight the tourism potential of the town, he said.
The Bhuri Singh Museum at Chamba and its art galleries would be renovated at a cost of Rs 2 crore, he added.
