Ranchi, June 29: The Jharkhand Front today asked the state government to frame a domicile policy by August 16 and warned that in case of failure it would resort to a week-long road and train block agitation in the state. Stating this here at a press conference, dissident BJP MP Salkhan Murmu said the Front would take an oath tomorrow at a rally here to mark 'Hul Divas' (Kranti Divas).
The Jharkhand Front is comprised of Murmu's Jharkhand Disom Party, Jharkhand Peoples' Party, Jharkhand Party (N E Horo), Jharkhand Party (Naren) and Jharkhand Vikas Dal.
"On June 30, 1855, about 10,000 adivasis under the leadership of Siddho Murmu took an oath to liberate themselves from the clutches of Britishers. Tomorrow, more people will take oath at the maha-rally to liberate themselves from the clutches of outsiders and Biharis," Murmu said.
During the rally here, the front would also announce a list of agitational programmes like gheraoing MPs and MLAs on August nine to put pressure on them to speak on behalf of the adivasis and moolwasis or tender their resignations.
And if the government failed to solve the domicile issue, the front would resort to week-long road and train block agitation from August 16, he added.
