Ayodhya, Oct 23: Ayodhya Jama Masjid Trust managing trustee S A Rizvi today said he had wide-ranging informal discussions with Hindu and Muslim religious leaders in Ayodhya and Faizabad to resolve the vexed issue of Ram Janmabhoomi- Babri Masjid case. "Free and frank discussions were held for peaceful and amicable settlement of the Ayodhya issue at the earliest," Rizvi said at the conclusion of his two-day visit to Ayodhya. The trust would organise a meeting of Hindu and Muslim leaders in Ayodhya on November 30 to find ways for peaceful solution to the long-standing dispute, he told reporters. Rizvi said he had met Hindu and Muslim leaders including the main plaintiffs in Ayodhya case, Haji Hashim Anasari.
"There was positive response from both the parties for peaceful settlement of this vexed issue," he said. Replying to a question, Rizvi said a ram temple should be constructed at the same place and a new Ayodhya Jama Masjid could be constructed elsewhere in a Muslim locality in Ayodhya. "People here want a temple and a mosque built in Ayodhya and this desire of the people should be fulfilled."

He said everything should be done in accordance with law. The Prime Minister's office and the Faizabad commissioner were apprised of the initiatives of the trust in this regard.

Rizvi would meet Sri Ram Janambhumi Mandir Nirman President Mahant Awaidyanath in Gorakhpur.
