Tikrit, Iraq, Aug 08: Five Iraqi men and one child were killed today by us gunfire in a street market in the town of Tikrit, the director of the main hospital in Saddam Hussein's hometown north of Baghdad told a news agency. US soldiers opened fire at five arms sellers who were test firing Kalashnikov assault rifles for customer, killing them, Salah al-Dulaimi said. A child who was in the marketplace of the town, 175 kilometers north of Baghdad, was also fatally shot, and a woman was wounded, he said. There was no immediate confirmation of the incident from the US military.
