New Delhi, June 28: in a bid to further strengthen road network, government tonight approved a Rs 2573 crore package for four- laning of roads in Gujarat under National Highway Development Programme. The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs cleared the rehabilitation and upgradation of the existing two-lane road to four-lane covering 506.60 km with assistance from agencies like Asian Development Bank. While ADB would extend loans to the tune of Rs 1568 crore, the remaining would be funded from other sources including National Highways Authority. CCEA also gave its nod for a transmission system to evacuate power from Tala Hydro Electric Project in Bhutan with an investment of Rs 1980.7 crore.
