New Delhi, July 12: Asking Muslims to give up their claim on Ayodhya, Kashi and Mathura temples for "better relations" with Hindus, Vishwa Hindu Parishad supremo Ashok Singhal today asserted that these shrines were "non-negotiable".
Giving details of the resolution adopted at yesterday`s day-long meeting of the high-power panel of Ram Temple Agitation Committtee comprising RSS and VHP top brass and senior Hindu religious leaders, Singhal said the Muslim community must withdraw their claim on these three shrines for better relations with Hindus.
"Having adopted such a rigid attitude, Muslims cannot live in the society. They should not challenge the self-respect of Hindus. They have to reach an understanding with Hindus and give up their claim on the three temples," he said.
However, the VHP backtracked on its demand that the Prime Minister should resign over his "failure" to bring about a legislation to facilitate construction of Ram Temple at the disputed site in Ayodhya.

Singhal warned that Hindu society and religious leaders would launch a countrywide stir against the BJP if it "turns away from its duty" to introduce a bill on Ayodhya.
He is believed to have given a two-month deadline to BJP to bring about a legislation, failing which, he warned, the VHP will launch an agitation against the party.
Both the VHP and RSS were fully united on the issue, Singhal said, adding that the movement for construction of Ram Temple got a momentum ever since the VHP associated itself with it.
