Panchkula, Aug 14: A Delhi Police team today visited the residence of former Haryana IPS officer Ravi Kant Sharma, prime suspect in the journalist Shivani Bhatnagar murder case, reportedly to quiz his wife and two daughters.

The team took several rounds outside the residence of the IPS officer here in two separate vehicles, police sources said. The team, however, did not enter the house of Sharma, sources in the IPS officer's family said.

The sources said Madhu Sharma, wife of the police official, who was removed from the post today as he was abstaining from work without any intimation to the authorities for the past three days since Monday, is away to Delhi whereas her daughters -Pragati and Komal- have moved to some unknown destination outside Panchkula this morning. In a dramatic turn of events last evening, Madhu, who had faxed a letter to the media offices here challenging Delhi police to arrest her, failed to turn up for a media briefing at her residence.

Her daughters later told media that they apprehend arrest by the police. Courts in Panchkula and Delhi have already rejected bail plea of Sharma who is absconding since august three.
