Phoolan was unhappy with SP, says UP Minister: The Hindu
The Uttar Pradesh Minister of State for Home Affairs, Mr. Rangnath Mishra, has accused the Samajwadi Party of trying to gain ``political mileage`` from the murder of Phoolan Devi and claimed that the Mirzapur MP, at a meeting with him, had said she was disillusioned with her party as it neglected the most backward castes.
The Uttar Pradesh Minister of State for Home Affairs, Mr. Rangnath Mishra, has accused the Samajwadi Party of trying to gain ``political mileage'' from the murder of Phoolan Devi and claimed that the Mirzapur MP, at a meeting with him, had said she was disillusioned with her party as it neglected the most backward castes.
Mr. Mishra, who was addressing a press conference today, said, `we are willing to order a CBI inquiry if the Samajwadi Party demands.'' The media briefing was called to clear his position about his meeting with Phoolan Devi on July 24.
