Nagpur, Dec 11: The Maharashtra Assembly today witnessed an uproar over reports of arrests of Sameer Bhujbal, a relative of Deputy Chief Minister Chhagan Bhujbal by SIT in Mumbai in connection with fake stamp paper scam. The house was adjourned for 15 minutes by Speaker Arun Gujarathi. Opposition leader Narayan Rane (Shiv Sena) through a point of information, sought to know whether Sameer was summoned today by special investigation team and subsequently arrested,, quoting a private news channel report.

Soon, the entire opposition moved into the well of the house as the speaker said Sameer is not a member of this house and hence a notice is to be given for referring his name. The house was adjourned for 15 minutes and when it reassembled, Home Minister Bhujbal dismissed any such incident. He said Sameer has gone on an invitation to the UN.

The issue also figured in state legislative council, where opposition leader Nitin Gadkari (BJP) raised the issue.
