Moscow, Nov 12: Russian and Indian scientists are engaged in joint development work ranging from biotechnology to solar power generation, vice president of the Russian Academy of Sciences Nikolai Plate has said. "Taking part in the implementation of a long-term technical cooperation programme are 71 Russian institutes and 55 institutes and laboratories of India," Plate said.
The two countries are currently cooperating in 120 directions. 300 projects have been implemented within the framework of the programme since 1987, he was quoted as saying by a Russian news agency.
He said the most promising joint projects include development of a new generation of immuno-stimulators, research in the fields of solar energy and modeling of atmospheric processes.
The programmes created in the Russian-Indian Computer Centre allow for forecasting monsoons and tornadoes which inflict consideration damage to agriculture, plate added. Bureau Report
