Guwahati, July 05: Nine people, including two physically challenged children, were feared to have been drowned while four others rescued in separate flood related incidents in Assam. Official reports received here today said the two children were washed away by the rising water of Jiadhol river at Bhojugaon in the worst flood-hit Dhemaji district on Tuesday. In Sonitpur district, seven persons were feared dead when their boat capsized on river Jiabhoroli near Jamuguri on Monday as they were returning at night after marketing at Napaam. The bodies of the victims had not yet been recovered, the reports said, while another, person who clung to a wooden log drifted for eight km to Parbatia area where villagers rescued him in an unconscious state. In yet another incident of boat capsize in the same district, three persons were rescued yesterday by river police with the help of villagers on river Brahmaputra. However, their boat was still untraceable, the reports added.
