Colombo, Sept 22: Sri Lanka wants to take up the issue of increasing flights to Indian destinations in talks with External Affairs Minister Yaswant Sinha next month, a top official said here today. Tourism ministry secretary P Ramanujam said the island nation was keen to ask for India's support to increase the number of flights, currently restricted as a result of bilateral agreements.

"One of the key things we would like to take up with the foreign minister is the question of flights to Indian destinations," Ramanijam said. Sinha was due here last month, but he put off his visit because of a no-confidence vote against the NDA government, officials said.

He is now expected to visit Colombo on October 14 and return on October 16.
