Thanjavur, Nov 28: India has adequate scope for becoming a major producer of silicon chips, a top official of the Union Ministry of Information and Technology has said.
Despite having adequate expertise in the field, the country's production of chips was meagre, Dr K S Chari, senior director and head micro-electronics division, Ministry of IT, lamented.
He was speaking after inaugurating the three-day national seminar on 'system on chip', organised by the SASTRA deemed university yesterday.
