Dehradun, Aug 31: In a major administrative reshuffle ahead of appointment of new chief secretary in Uttaranchal, the state government has shifted nine officers including eight belonging to the IAS to new postings, an official spokesman said today. M Ramchandran, who was holding the charge of principal secretary, power and irrigation, has been appointed as principal secretary to the chief minister.

He has swapped his responsibilities with S Krishnan, who would now look after the power and irrigation departments as principal secretary. Besides, he would also hold the charge of director, Ureda, the spokesman said.

Vibha Puri Das, who has just returned from the Central Government, has been appointed as principal secretary, rural development, horticulture and food processing, cooperatives and panchayati raj.
Commissioner Garhwal, Subhash Kumar, has been given additional charge of ‘mela’ officer for Ardh Kumbh Mela to be held in Hardwar next year.

Om Prakash, who was till now holding the charge of mela officer, has been shifted to agriculture, agriculture education, agriculture marketing, animal husbandry, dairy development and fishery departments as secretary, taking over from B P Pandey. He would also be project director of DASP.
