New Delhi, Oct 06: The Delhi High Court has effected a mass transfer of district court judges in the capital. The list includes additional sessions judges Prem Kumar, S N Dhingra and V K Jain, who have approached Supreme Court for expunction of strictures passed against them by Justice J D Kapoor of the Delhi High Court.
According to the transfer order signed by high court registrar (admn-judl) R K Ahluwalia, Dhingra, who had awarded death penalty to three Kashmiri militants in the Parliament attack case, has been replaced by Additional Sessions Judge (ASJ) J M Malik and sent to Tis Hazari as an Additional District Judge (ADJ) to try civil cases.
Malik has been hearing the sensational Shivani Bhatnagar murder case at Karkardooma courts.
Special judge Prem Kumar, who was trying the politically sensitive Bofors pay-off case, has also been moved to Tis Hazari as an ADJ.
Kumar had also been hearing the DDA scam cases involving former Delhi High Court judge Shamit Mukherjee and the then DDA vice chairman Subhash Sharma.
The transfer order, however, specified that "such of the matters in which arguments have been heard, will be disposed of by the concerned officer, even after his transfer from one court to the another."
Other who have been transferred as per the order include Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) K S Pal and additional CMMs V K Maheshwari, J P S Malik, Pradeep Chadha and T S Kashyap.
Reena Singh Nag, who had been an ADJ at Tis Hazari would now hold the office of CMM.
