Bill to include Bodo language in 8th schedule introduced
New Delhi, Aug 18: Government today introduced in Lok Sabha a constitution amendment bill seeking to include Bodo language in the eighth schedule of the Constitution.

The bill was introduced by Deputy Prime Minister L K
Advani.
Currently there are eighteen languages in the eighth schedule. These are: Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Hindi, Kannada, Kashmiri, Kankani, Malayalam, Manipuri, Marathi, Nepali, Oriya, Punjabi,Sanskrit, Sindhi, Tamil, Telugu and Urdu. Bureau Report
