United Nations, Oct 10: United Nations Secretary General Kofi Annan has canceled his visit to India scheduled from October 12 to 14, UN sources said today. They said the world body has informed India that it would not be possible for Annan to visit India because of his preoccupation with Iraq at the headquarters. Earlier, Annan had planned to travel to Sri Lanka and India before attending the summit of the Organization of Islamic Conference in Malaysia.

But he had cancelled his visit to Sri Lanka earlier and now sources say he is not going to India too. Sri Lankan press reports had said that the visit there was cancelled following differences with government on Annan's possible meeting with LTTE leader Velupilai Prabhakaran.
