Chennai, June 29: Union Labour Minister and senior BJP leader Sahib Singh Verma today said the VHP was entitled to say anything they wanted but he was sure that Deputy Prime Minister L K Advani would not pay heed to it. Asked by reporters here about the VHP's reported plea to Advani to quit the government if Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee was a hurdle in the construction of a Ram temple at the disputed site at Ayodhya, he said "they (VHP) can say anything they want Advani will not act upon it".
Pointing out that the Parishad was an organisation for the Hindus and "very strong about construction of the temple", he said the BJP too wanted the temple to be constructed at the site, but the party was part of the NDA and the temple construction was not on the NDA agenda.
Stating that the NDA had decided that it would accept the Supreme Court verdict on the Ram Janabhoomi-Babri Masjid issue, Verma said the BJP would also agree to a negotiated settlement between the various parties on the vexed issue.
