Seoul, Apr 26: South Korea today named the country's southeastern port city of Busan as the venue for the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation Forum next year, organisers said. Seoul and the country's southern resort island of Jeju had also been bidding to host the forum, the foreign ministry's preparatory office said.
The host city Busan, some 450 kilometres southeast of Seoul, is the second largest city and the biggest trade port in South Korea.
South Korea was selected to host the 21-country regional forum from November 14-21 in 2005 when member countries met in Brunei in 2000.
