Jaipur, Feb 20: The 12th Red White Bravery Awards will be presented by Rajasthan social welfare minister Mandan Dilawar here. The awards were being given in two categories-- for 'physical bravery' to those who had shown exemplary courage in saving lives and protecting property and to those crusading to remove social evils, a spokesperson of organizers Godfrey Philips India Ltd said.
Winners would be presented with gold, silver and bronze medals along with cash prizes and citations.
Awardees have been chosen among the nominations received from Rajasthan, by selection panel that included state Director General of Police B S Rathore, social welfare secretary Lalit Mehra and administrative tribunal chief D S Sagar. ''The awards denote the humanitarianism that unites people and pays homage to those showing courage in accomplishing a variety of tasks selflessly and with a serving spirit in real life,'' the spokespersons said.
The awards are given in the twelve states of Delhi, Haryana, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Maharastra, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Andhra Pradeh, Orissa, Chhattisgarh and Uttaranchal. The company said it had now decided to include West Bengal and Karnataka.
The ceremony will be held at the Rambagh Hotel here and Maharaja Jai Singhji will be the chief guest, the spokesperson added.
