Shillong, Oct 14: The All India Mahila Congress has critised Sharad Pawar-led Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) for raking up the foreign origin issue of Congress President Sonia Gandhi. "NCP is playing the BJP card. It has got no agenda of its own. Raising the (foreign origin) issue on the eve of polls is nothing but a political gimmick," its president Rita Bahuguna Joshi told reporters here yesterday.
Describing the NCP as the 'little sister' of BJP having some presence in Meghalaya and Maharashtra only, Joshi alleged it was 'hand in glove' with the saffron party as it had abstained from the voting during the no-confidence motion against the NDA government in the last Lok Sabha session.
The NCP also indulged in 'treachery' which resulted in the Congress losing the recent Solapur bye-elections in Maharashtra, she alleged.
