Moscow, Nov 12: Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee today extended a formal invitation to Russian President Vladimir Putin to visit India. The Russian President accepted the invitation and said the respective foreign ministries will coordinate the dates of the visit. The invitation was extended during their 40-minute one-on-one talks on various issues relating to terrorism and bilateral strategic and trade ties. The summit meeting is held every year alternately in Russia and India to review and constantly upgrade the bilateral relations. Last year, President Putin visited India for three days from December three to hold the summit meeting with Mr Vajpayee. The Prime Minister's current three-day visit to Russia is a reciprocal visit and it is Mr Putin's turn to travel to India next year. Bureau Report
