Thai PM, Gujaral to join global economic governance conference
Dhaka, Dec 06: Thai pemier Thaksin Shinawatra and former Indian Prime Minister Inder Kumar Gujral will visit Bangladesh next month for a two-day International Conference on Governance of the Global Economy, organisers said today.
Dhaka, Dec 06: Thai pemier Thaksin Shinawatra and former Indian Prime Minister Inder Kumar Gujral will visit Bangladesh next month for a two-day International Conference on Governance of the Global Economy, organisers said today.
Thaksin will be the keynote speaker at the conference that starts on January 17 in Dhaka, said a spokesman for the organisers, the Bangladesh chapter of the International Chamber of Commerce.
Another Thai, World Trade Organisation chief Supachai Panitchpakdi, is also scheduled to attend the meeting which will be inaugurated by Bangladeshi Prime Minister Khaleda Zia.
Other participants include Gujral and trade ministers Rini Soewandi of Indonesia, Ravi Karunanayake of Sri Lanka and Ali Coskun of Turkey.
