New Delhi, Dec 09: The removal of D P Ojha as
Director General of Police in Bihar today caused a furore in
Lok Sabha with Samata Party members taking strong exception to
the action taken by the RJD government.
RJD members vehemently protested against the issue being
raised in the house, saying this was a state matter and the
chair should not have allowed it to be raised.
Raising the matter, Samata Party member Prabhunath Singh said action was taken against Ojha as he had the courage to publicly talk about the funds and arms being received in Bihar and outside from Pakistan's inter-services intelligence, threatening national security. Protesting against Singh's statement, RJD leader Raghuvansh Prasad Singh said it was a state matter and it should not be raised in the House. Justifying the action taken against Ojha, he said he was removed from his post as he was publicly abusing political leaders and branding his own 80 per cent policemen as "corrupt."
Another reason for the action was that he had links with the banned private "Ranvir Sena", he said.
"Criminals are issuing statements in favour of Ojha," he said.
