London, Dec 08: British "Pop Idol" winner Will Young overcame competition from American hip-hop band Black Eyed Peas Sunday to claim a second consecutive week at the top of the UK singles charts. The Peas' new release "Shut Up" was pushed into second place by Young's "Leave Right Now" in a top 10 peppered with new releases.
"Pop Idol" runner-up Gareth Gates entered the chart at No. 4 with "Say It Isn't So," while Simply Red's "You Make Me Feel Brand New" gained the seventh spot, according to the Official UK Charts Company.
The latest single from British singer Dido, "Life For Rent," made a first time appearance at eight, followed at nine by D-Side's new release "Real World."

Katie Malua was this week's last new top ten entry at ten with "The Closest Thing to Crazy" from her debut album "Call Off the Search."
This year's Children In Need charity record "I'm Your Man," performed by EastEnders' actor Shane Richie, fell one place from its debut last week at two to this week's No. 3.

Irish boyband Westlife slipped two places to five with their remake of the Barry Manilow hit "Mandy" and made-for-TV band Girls Aloud were at six with "Jump." Bureau Report
