According to a report in Deccan Chronicle, a complainant named Ravi Kumar in his complaint with the Saroornagar police said that Balakrishna’s remarks were provocative. Kumar also said that being a celebrity, Balakrishna had to empower women and not make such offensive remarks.

“I have always tried to do different roles. If I simply run behind the actresses, my fans will be disappointed. They like it when I either kiss the girl or make her pregnant,” Deccan Chronicle quoted the actor as saying during the audio launch of Nara Rohith-starrer ‘Savitri’.

Balakrishna also said that he acts naughty with the actresses and even pinches them sometimes, report suggests.

Following protests, the actor-politician apologised for making such remarks and said that they weren’t meant to offend anyone.

“I have utmost respect towards women. The comments which I made were not to target anyone. Recollecting my previous movies, I made the comments. I extend my greetings to all women from the Telugu states and across the country on Women’s Day,” Deccan Chronicle quoted the official statement of the actor.
