Maryland, June 09: South Africa's Rory Sabbatini hung on to a slender lead in the rain-delayed Capital Open with a 68 in Sunday's third round. Heading into Monday's final round, Sabbatini is on 11-under-par 202, just one stroke head of Sweden's Niclas Fasth, who a shot a 67. After a five-under 66, Duffy Waldorf moved into third place, three shots behind Sabbatini. Current PGA champion Rich Beem and Ireland's Padraig Harrington head a group of six players on 206. Also at that figure are Fred Funk, Chris DiMarco, J.L. Lewis and Tom Gillis. Fasth, seeking his first victory on the U.S. PGA Tour, had taken the lead from Sabbatini early on the back nine with a birdie at the par-four 10th hole. The 31-year-old Swede quickly dropped back when he bogeyed the par-five 13th while Sabbatini, playing one hole behind, birdied the 12th.

With additional birdies on the 14th and 16th, the 27-year-old Sabbatini increased his lead to two shots. He missed a very short par putt on the final hole to give a shot back to the field.
