Mumbai, Feb 12: A special court today extended till February 20, police custody of the three suspended Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) officers, arrested on charges of allegedly allowing the illegal construction of twin shopping complexes at Crawford market, which allegedly belongs to underworld Don Dawood Ibrahim. The three accused are assistant Municipal Commissioner Kiran Vasant Acharekar, senior executive engineer Hasmukh Pravinchandra Shah and assistant engineer Shirish Madhukar Salvekar. Defence advocate Dipesh Mehta, had moved the bail application before Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA) court judge Ashok Bhangale. Another suspended BMC officer Narendra Rajbhar, who is currently on bail to face departmental inquiry was also present in the court for appearance on date. Judge Bhangale extended till February 16 for appearance as his bail period will expire on that date. Bureau Report
