KPP Central Committee formed, renews statehood demand
Siliguri, Nov 23: A 16-member central committee of Kamtapur Peoples Party (KPP) has been elected at a general body meeting at Chengrabandha in Coochbehar district of West Bengal, newly elected party spokesman Atul Roy said today.

Roy told that the two-day party meet yesterday also resolved to launch a movement renewing its original demands of Kamtapuri statehood and recognition of Kamtapuri language under eighth schedule of the Constitution.
The central committee would hold its first meeting on December 3 to decide the strategies for the movement. The portfolio holders of the newly elected committee are Sunil Roy (president), Nasir Ali Pramanik (vice-president), Subhas Barman (general secretary), Nubas Barman (asst. General secretary), Subhas Brajabasi (chief organisor) and Atul Roy (party spokesman).
