Dehradun, June 13: For the first time, the passing out parade of the prestigious Indian Military Academy here would be telecast live by television channels amid tight security arrangements.
For smooth conduct of the media coverage tomorrow, IMA authorities today held a drill session during which mediapersons were told about the "do's and dont's" during the ceremony in which Defence Minister George Fernandes would participate as reviewing officer, IMA spokesman Lt Col M S Kanwar said.
"Some private TV channels will telecast the ceremony live," Kanwar said.
A total of 417 cadets will pass out tomorrow to join as officers in the Indian Army, he said.
All the gentlemen cadets who had won honours during their training would receive awards from Fernandes, Kanwar said.
Meanwhile, security in and around the IMA complex has been tightened for tomorrow's ceremony.
