Sukhbir aide in 14-day judicial remand
Kharar, Oct 21: A local court today remanded a sub-inspector of Chandigarh Police Nirabhjeet Singh alias Nibhy Dhanoa, believed to be a close aide of Rajya Sabha MP and former Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal`s son Sukhbir Badal, to judicial remand till November 3 in connection with corruption case against the Badals.
Kharar, Oct 21: A local court today remanded a sub-inspector of Chandigarh Police Nirabhjeet Singh alias Nibhy Dhanoa, believed to be a close aide of Rajya Sabha MP
and former Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal's son Sukhbir Badal, to judicial remand till November 3 in connection with corruption case against the Badals.
Remanding Dhanoa to jail custody, sub-divisional Judicial Magistrate B K Bhatia ordered that he be produced before the special court on next date.
The police personnel was arrested in a case of corruption, disproportionate assets, cheating, forgery and criminal conspiracy registered against Badal and others by the PVB at Mohali on June 24 last. He was apprehended by the immigration authorities from New Delhi IGI Airport, on the basis of a look-out notice issued against him by Punjab Vigilance Bureau on September 29, and handed over to PVB last Thursday.
The court also remanded to judicial custody till November 4 three persons, who had allegedly "bribed" SAD president Parkash Singh Badal through his so-called "conduit" Harbans Lal, already under arrest in the same case. Harbans Lal served as the manager of a petrol pump of the Badals for more than four decades.
The trio were arrested on Friday last in connection with the case of corruption, disproportionate assets, cheating, forgery and criminal conspiracy against Badal and others.
