Chennai, Sept 08: BJP President M Venkaiah Naidu today said the Mulayam Singh government in Uttar Pradesh would not be able to survive for long, though it might win the confidence vote in the state assembly. Naidu told reporters at the Meenambakkam airport here that time alone could tell how the government would be able to survive. "Is it by breaking other parties," he asked. He said BJP would not have any truck with the Samajwadi Party and the BSP in Uttar Pradesh. BJP had decided to be a efficient and constructive opposition party there, he said.
"We want to start a new chapter in Uttar Pradesh. Caste based politics indulged by both the parties (SP and BSP) has not done any good either for the state or for the people. We want to begin a new chapter with a development oriented nationalist agenda", he said.
BJP would go it alone in up in the Lok Sabha polls, he said.
"We will provide an alternative to SP and BSP", he said adding that a convention of party workers would be held at Lucknow on October six to decide about next course of action.
On re-induction of Gingee N Ramachandran in the Vajpayee ministry, he said the prime minister had told the BJP leaders, with whom he had held a consultation, that Ramachandran had been absolved in the cash for transfer scam and had re-inducted him in the Union Council of Ministers.

There was no truth in the reports that the PMO wanted the MDMK to recommend some other name except Ramachandran for induction into the ministry, he said.

He said he would call on Union Minister Murasoli Maran tomorrow at the Apollo Hospital here.
